History and rules to playing basketball
In addition to football, futsal and many other sports. basketball is popular sport in Thailand. so, many people don't know about history of basketball. let's getting to know about basketball.
History of basketball
Basketball was born in the United States of America. basketball is the national sport of American. Dr.James A.Naismith is inventor of basketball. it was invented to help members of Y.M.C.A (International Young Men’s Christian Association Training School) in winter so, it's problem to play outdoor sport. Dr.James Naismith use basket to hung on both sides of the door. and players hold the ball into the basket. sport's not rule make players have fun until the lack of order. so, Dr.James Naismith wrote the rules to playing basketball.
Rules to playing basketball
1. Players who has control of the ball will stop, don't move.
2. Basket will on head of players and parallel to the ground.
3. Players can control the ball for as long as possible. The opponent must not touch the player who has control of the ball.
4. Don't play severe.
Dr.James will be change how to play. finally, he has reduced the number of players to have 5 people. and he also wrote 13 rules.
1. Can throw the ball by 2 hands or 1 hand.
2. Can hit the ball by 2 hands or 1 hand. but, don't use your fist to smash the ball.
3. Don't hold the ball and run.
4. Hold the ball by hand or arm but, don't pull the ball.
5. Don't push the opponent.
6. If you do 1-5 ,regarded as a foul.
7. If your team has 3 fouls, the opponent will recieve score.
8. when the ball into the basket. If the opponent touch the door
9. If the ball out of feild. pass the ball into play at the point of outgoing ball.
10. The umpire has the duty to keep a record of fouls.
11. The umpire is responsible for making decisions on the court. and keep score when scoring.
12. The match is divided into 2 halves, 5 points. (with a half-time rest of 5 minutes)
13. End of the competition which side scored more is the winner but, if a tie will be playing until any side has scored more.
